Where It All Started
We’re Delvin and Rebecca Kropf, and we understand that desire completely.
Delvin bought his first Angus cattle as a 4H kid in 1990 and grew his herd and farming experience into a direct-to-consumer beef business for 25 years! Rebecca grew up on a dairy farm just across the meadow.
Delvin dedicated 21 years to building a successful welding business that eventually crowded out the beef “hobby,” but has now decided to leave behind the mental and physical hazards of life as a self-employed welder.
We decided to pursue farming as our primary income— with you and families like yours in mind.
A New Path Forward
A dream doesn’t pay the mortgage, and our figures didn’t show much margin after considering the costs of starting a conventional farm.
Then things shifted. We learned about regenerative agriculture and the opportunity to farm with management practices that work in harmony with the land. That suited us perfectly—all we had to start with was a vintage loader tractor and an old hay rake and baler.
We found a farm in Peach Bottom, Lancaster County that works beautifully for serving families throughout Lancaster and Kennett Square, PA as well as Northeast and Darlington, MD. After countless hours researching cattle breeds, we discovered Dexter cattle—a breed that produces tasty, tender beef on an all-grass diet with a slightly smaller stature than traditional beef animals.
